Mains & Low Voltage / Recessed Lighting / Fire Rated
Recessed ceiling lighting uses direct & angled beams of light and low voltage lamps and mains. Low voltage fittings require a transformer whereas mains fittings can appear the same but do not require a transformer. Most fittings are compact and normally used in multiples. Recessed downlighters are ideal for kitchen areas, over bars etc. Some are directional and can be tilted to wallwash pictures, ornaments, display cases etc. Recessed uplighters can be used for decking, driveways, wall and steprises etc
Fire-rated lighting products must meet the required British Standards approval and bear the BS476 mark. Only if products or their packaging bear this mark, do they provide both assurance and proof of compliance. Using accredited manufacturers, suppliers and products proves that the installer has used reasonable care to ensure their installation complies with the regulations.
